II Introduction of rubber bridge bearing
Elastomeric rubber bearings provide vibration isolation for application where structure movements, longitudinal, transverse and rotational are too small to moderate. These are available in strip form or as plain pads. Laminated types, consisting of rubber layers separated by vulcanised steel plates, provide a robust bearing for larger structures and can also be configured in sliding types.

Elastomeric rubber bridge bearings shall be composed of multiple laminates of elastomeric material separated by steel reinforcing the overall size of the bearings the number of laminates and thickness of laminates are designed in accordance to the requirement of load to be transferred.Bearings having steel plates as reinforcement shall be cast/compression molded / vulcanized as single unit in a mold under pressure and heat.

VII The installation of rubber bridge bearing
